2 Feb

Largest In-College Dormitory Television Network in the World

New York—SirkTV, the largest in-dorm college television network, has set its Winter/Spring programming schedule, according to Marc Perez, President of Sirk Productions. SirkTV (formerly the Zilo College Television Network) showcases original films and television content geared towards the college audience that is “inspiring, thought provoking and entertaining,” said Perez. “The Inside Reel,” “Fearless Music,” and “Extreme Elements” are returning for a new season while “Cherry TV” and “BreakThru Radio” join the lineup. As always SirkTV will feature award-winning short films and documentaries straight from film festivals around the nation. “We are also happy to have Arkansas State University, University of North Texas, Waldorf College and Quinnipiac University join the SirkTV growing list of affiliates.”

“The Inside Reel” is an award winning television program and website which covers the film and television industry and features celebrity interviews, behind the scenes segments, industry commentary and film festival coverage. “The Inside Reel” has lined up interviews with Natalie Portman (“No Strings Attached”), Seth Rogen (“The Green Hornet”), Javier Bardem (“Biutiful”), Joe Kosinski (“Tron: Legacy”), Christian Bale (“The Fighter”), and Nicolas Cage (“Season of the Witch”).

“Fearless Music” from Track Entertainment is a music series shot at New York’s Crash Mansion featuring genres that span Indie to Alternative to Hip-Hop and everything in-between. “‘Fearless Music’ is dedicated to showcasing up and coming stars in the music industry,” Perez said.

“Extreme Elements” has been producing HD videos of extreme sports around the world since 2007. They are the official media outfit of the Professional Kiteboard Riders Association (PKRA). This season “Extreme Elements” is filming on-location around the world from South America, Europe, to the Pacific to bring exclusive video footages of the PKRA World Tour

New to SirkTV is a lineup of music and lifestyle programming from “BreakThru Radio” (BTR). BTR’s website and content is devoted to giving a voice to talented, upcoming artists and empowering DJs to pick and play their own music. BTR’s ‘Live Studio” lets viewers get intimate with musicians in the recording studio. “Hear & There” features artists playing in non-musical settings. “Pulse” takes to the streets to ask people about the issues that matter to them most while “Live Studio Scraps” features unscripted gems that happen between Live Studio’s recorded tracks.

This season the all new “SirkTV AfterDark” series of cutting-edge and controversial programming launches with “Cherry TV”, a series committed to discussing sex-related issues that affect the lives of women in a nonjudgmental, personal way. Cherry TV features honest, personal talk by real, everyday women, sex experts, medical personnel, sex-industry professionals and teachers who aren’t afraid to take on any sex-related topic.

“SirkTV features quality content viewers can’t find on television anywhere else. We’re dedicated to presenting programming students enthusiastically respond to and building a network outreach that institutions find invaluable,” said Perez.

In addition to helping schools fill a programming void, SirkTV helps advertisers fill a need in the out-of-home advertising space. SirkTV works with major brands like the beauty products brand Tweezerman and USA Today to directly reach the coveted student demographic with branded television content. “It’s a great way to reach young adults that are developing buying patterns and brand loyalties that will last them the rest of their lives,” said Perez.

SirkTV parent company, Sirk Productions, also offers discounted production services to advertising clients. “It keeps all the work in-house, giving our clients valuable savings and cost advantages,” said Perez.
